We'll miss you, Mike!

It was very sad to lose another great comic artist and friend this past week. I wouldn't say Mike Turner and I were close friends since we hardly ever saw one another and lived on opposite sides of the US, but he sure always made me feel like a best friend whenever I ran into him at a convention.
He was just terrific! A wonderful artist, nice as can be, hard-working. One of the things I admired most about him was that he continued to improve and be very productive after he became so successful. You won't see that happen very often. It's so much easier to sit back and rest on your laurels, take it easy and enjoy the fruits of past labors. I hope I can learn from his example.
But to me, his success as an artist pales in comparison to his success as a wonderful person. I've read so many nice things about him this last week. The people who know and love him, his friends and family are really blessed to have him as a part of their lives. Thanks for everything, Mike!
My good friend, [link] is having a birthday today! Drop by and send him best wishes! Really cool guy and a great artist, check out his Marvel masterpieces cards.
I know it's been a looooong time since I updated this thing. Sorry. I can not ever get caught up on e-mails, people I need to call, etc., etc.
School has started and it's really keeping me hopping running the kids around to all their different activities. Life is full! Anyway, I guess I'll get used to it eventually. Finally the hot weather has broken and we're getting some cool, near autumn type weather. I love this time of the year, and I wished it lasted a lot longer. It'll be cold soon, then I'll be wishing for warm weather all over again. I hope we finally get some snow this year! It's been a while.
I hope all you are having a wonderful time regardless of where you are in the world! And may God bless you -- Randy
